Eileen Fusco, NP
New York, NY
Honored by Ellen Dominguez
I first met Eileen Fusco in 2001 when I was about to begin chemotherapy. Her patience and compassion with a “newbie” was impressive and her level of knowledge and professionalism was a source of comfort in those first days of uncertainty. It is now almost six years since I first entered those offices, and am now battling a recurrence. My relationship with Eileen has deepened over the years and we exchange tales of raising our sons, among other things. She has inspired me when the going got tough, was the first to point out that my 5-inch thick (and growing) patient file was a “testament to life,” and has taught me much about my condition, treatment and perseverance over the years. Eileen is a STAR not only to me, but to the patient community at the NYU Clinical Cancer Center. I am so grateful to have someone of her caliber in my life to help me find my way on this journey.
